Tarsheed Energy is committed to Bahrain’s National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP)

Over the past few decades, Bahrain’s energy demand has increased significantly. Bahrain relies on natural gas, a nonrenewable source, for energy. Natural gasis not a sustainable source and is as a result relying on imports which have increased the price of energy for consumers. The usage of fossil fuels is not a sustainable option, and these sources will be depleted in the years to come.

Additionally, our current method of energy consumption is unsafe for the environment, is contributing to pollution and global warming – among many pressing issues – and is greatly impacting the lives of many today and will continue to do so for generations to come.

To counteract this crisis, energy must be used efficiently and from renewable energy sources. This shift in method of energy consumption will rely less on energy imports, reduce emissions of harmful greenhouse gases, and will contribute to better overall health and wellbeing. By using energy more efficiently, we reduce energy waste from natural resources.

Bahrain has embarked on an action plan that taps into the vast potential of the Kingdom to rely on renewable energy sources and to move towards more efficient methods of energy consumption. Bahrain is committed to the international Paris Agreement, the UN’s SDGs, Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 as well as the regional league of Arab States Renewable Energy Network.

As per the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, there is great importance on implementing energy efficiency regulations, directing investments to technologies and reducing carbon emissions, minimizing pollution and promoting the sourcing of more sustainable energy.

The target set for the Kingdom is a 6% improvement in the use of energy by the year 2025. Presently, there are 22 initiatives set by the Sustainable Energy Authority in the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan which involves a wide array of Bahrain’s different sectors in order to achieve this target and to generate energy savings.

Tarsheed Energy, the private Bahrain-based company, is committed to the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) by helping facilities to transition to more sustainable energy systems and practices.
