Latest energy audit study conducted by Tarsheed Energy

In one of its latest projects, Tarsheed Energy successfully completed an energy audit for one of Bahrain’s oldest and leading industries.

The company’s annual energy consumption is 135 GWh fossil gas, 100 GWh electricity, and 600 GWh of petroleum coke as raw material.

The energy audit covered the company’s seawater desalination plant as well as its marine operations. It also covered its pet coke calcining process, waste heat boiler, water desalination and material transport processes at its marine areas and storage facilities. The energy conservation measures included the consumption of all equipment such as seawater intake pumps, material transport blowers and material handling belt conveyors.

Thermal energy balances were conducted to identify further the waste heat recovery potential for in-house power generation and to reduce fuel consumption.

The identified low investment measures would save about 20 GWh annually. Potential investing in the identified waste heat recovery for power generation is expected to provide 300 GWh of electricity annually.
